I purchased a bilibo for each of my 2 grandchildren last spring. They enjoyed them through the summer, using them outside to haul dirt, build tunnels and garages for "heavy" equipment and frogs and to sit on while playing in the garden. Indoors they were fun to spin in on our hardwood floors. And great to stand on when a little extra height was needed to reach something. Now that winter is here, we are trying them out on the slope near grammy's house. They are a little scuffed, but still have years of use left in them! Great purchase.

What a fantastic toy for kids who like to use their imagination.
I bought this for my five year old who just loves creative play.
It's wonderful! I would definitely recommend this toy to others and I have already told my friends about it.

I love the bilibo...my son has two of them, and they are wonderful. We have all heard the standby "the kid liked the box better than the present" and bilibo is just that...the box. It can be anything the child wants. I love the imagination building that happens every time my son plays with this toy!

I bought this for my girls ages 1 and 5. They love it! I got it out and sat it on the floor. Right away they were spinning it, putting things in it, climbing in it and on it. They love it! They are both very imaginative and I love that there is no "right" way to play with this toy. It is virtually indestructible, so they aren't going to break it or crack it. This toy is much like a cardboard box, but lasts much, much longer and has even more possibilities. We can't wait to play with them outside in the snow!

This product is all that I expected and more! I am amazed at the multitude of ways the children in my preschool class find to make use of this material each day. It is a great large motor activity to have available in the classroom, and every child has utilized the bilibo in the week that we've had it, each in unique and fascinating ways. It is the sort of open-ended material that work best in early learning environments.

I have four kids -- 6, 4, 3, and 1. I bought this for the 1 y/o but only as an excuse to have one. All four kids love it. They spin in it, stand on it, wear it on their head, carry things in it -- the fun never ends.

The bilibo was a perfect large motor development toy for our grand daughter who will be one in May. She will enjoy this toy for years to come. Right now she sits on top of it like she is riding a turtle. Putting her stuffed animals in the seat and turning them around gets a huge laugh out loud from all of us.

I bought this a little prematurely, my daughter is just turning one and it is recommended for 2 years and up. She was fascinated by the little holes though and was poking her finger through and watching her finger come out the other side! The picture with the child model makes it look like a seat, but it is much more than that...I can tell that it takes balance to sit in it upright. I love that this is an open ended toy...there is no one purpose for it; I can see us keeping and using this for many years!

Great Developmental Toy/tool.
Posted 9/12/2008 by Patricia

Rating:

I have two boys ages 3 and 5 years so I purchased two bilbos. My younger son is developmentally delayed and so far I think the bilbo is a terrific toy/tool. He loves to spin it around, put it on his head, sit in it and rock all around. It's a great core strengthening tool. My five year sits in it to read and stands on top for balance. So far I love our bilbos.

Great creativity-inducing toy!
Posted 8/13/2008 by Lauren L.

Rating:

The bilibo is made from REALLY durable plastic - stronger than I would have thought. I actually tried it out - took it for a spin, if you will - in my kitchen and it didn't even bend (this, from a 120 lb. woman). I haven't actually given it to the child who's birthday I bought it for, but I can't wait to see her face. I can tell that I'll need to be adding more of these to her toy library in the years to come. My discounting of one star is for the $30 price tag for a hunk of plastic - but it's a well designed hunk of plastic - so I'll take two!

Love This Product
Posted 1/10/2008 by Becky Walker

Rating:

This is the coolest thing! My husband thought I was crazy when I explained it to him, before it arrived and then after as well. However, it is honestly one of the most played with toys my son recieved. He is on the autism spectrum. While he is 6 years old (close to the end of the age range of this product), I do not see him putting it away anytime soon. It is used as a bucket. He also uses it as a monster truck. He can turn it into a tunnel for everything. Sometimes he just sits in it while playing. We are very pleased. It is more than just a "bowl" as my family implied!

Bilibo
Posted 10/24/2008 by Brandy

Rating:

I bought these for my son's second birthday. He has used them in the water and spins them on the ground, sometimes stands on them or sits in them ... but his attention toward them is greatly limited, more so than any of his other toys. I don't know if it is his age? Maybe he will find more things to do with them as he matures. I had hoped he they would engage him more than they do right now. It is almost time for some snow so we are looking forward to trying them out on the hill as a sled, perhaps they will be a hit then?

Product is made in China and considering the recent scandals from this country, I was hesitant to purchase the 2 (yellow and green) products. The babies love them. I hope the bilibos are safe. I'm very glad I bought the optional bags. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of them. They also seem well made.

Rating:

I run a home daycare and have two of my own children ages 6 and 8. I purchased this toy to keep the children active in the winter months and also to spark their imagination. It has done both. They use the toy to sit and rock, spin, and stand on. They have used it for dolls, to carry things in and they have made up games involving it. It is an awesome toy and I plan on purchasing more. I think with more than one, they will come up with even more wonderful ideas.

Bilibo = lots of fun
Posted 8/4/2009 by A. Tanaka

I purchased the bilibo for my 19 month-old, but my 7 year-old loves it too, and has even requested one of her own. We've only had it for a week, but the kids have played with it every day. They particularly like sitting in it and spinning; that never gets old. We haven't taken it outside yet, but I have a feeling that filling it with water or sand will be a big hit. Definitely a great purchase and I'll undoubtedly give it as a gift to other kids I know.

Great Toy for Imaginative Play
Posted 6/22/2009 by Renee

Rating:

We all have fun with the bilibo. Having seen several at my son's day care, we purchased one for home. He is two years old and we continue to find new games and new ways to have fun. It is a seat that spins, it's a bowl, a mask, a stool, a step. . . and much more. It is well built and has stood up to much use already.
A great toy to spark the imagination.

This is honestly one of the best toys our kids got for their birthday. We got one for each of our twin girls and we now have some of the cutest pictures of them enjoying the many creative uses. They're only 2-years-old and need a lot of supervision with these toys, but they immediately came up with at least 4 ways to use them.

I purchased this for my rather active 18 month old. He has enjoyed it in every way...he carries it from room to room and uses it as a chair. He also enjoys spinning it it and turning it upside down to use as a stool. He tries to use it as a hat as well, but it is a little large and heavy for this.
As a side note, my twin 6 year old boys and my 3 year old nephew also love it. We are thinking of getting a couple more!

I gave them to my gransons (two and four years old) for their birthdays. I could not believe how they played with them. Along with their cousins, ranging in age from two to six, they did all sorts of things with them. It was like looking at the brochure that came with them. In fact, it would have made a great photo shoot for the manufacturer and, of course, Fat Brain Toys.

My two-year-old daughter instantly liked this toy, and is at that perfect age to explore all the ways it can be used. She is already having so much fun with it. My son is 18 months old and has not yet engaged play in the Bilibo. He looks at it and bangs on it like a drum, but was a little apprehensive when we put him in it to spin. Ironically, he loves a sit and spin. This is just a different approach to spinning I guess. I'm not concerned though. I'm sure in a few months he will love the Bilibo. Just a note, my oldest son, 17 years, and his friends have enjoyed trying to fit in the Bilibo and spinning.

I bought the Bilibo for my two older grandsons (ages 4 and 2) to use at my house during a recent visit. I was disappointed by their lack of interest in it. They both sat in it but couldn't get it to do anything but tip over. It ended up serving as a toy box. In all fairness, there were other interesting things to do, and if their visit had been longer they eventually might have investigated the Bilibo more.

My husband and I bought this product for our 4 year old daughter. At first, she wanted us to tell her what to do with it. However, it wasn't long before her imagination took over. It is so fun to watch her come up with different ways to play with the Bilibo. Anything from spinning in it to using it as a stage when she has something "important" to say. She has only had it a week, but it has already made it's way to the top of her toy list!

For The Kid Who Has Everything Or Nothing!
Posted 12/30/2007

Rating:

I gave this toy to each of my kids and my 2 nephews. I was concerned that it might be a flop, but my 3 year old immediately turned it over and started spinning in it! Then my 1 year old did the same thing (with my help) and they laughed for an hour. Now they have played with them every day and have found alternate things to do with it. I love Bilibo - no lights, no batteries, and they are bigger then I expected because I think the kids in the pictures must be older than my 3 year old. I would imagine that an even older kids would find even more things to do with it. Bilibos also seem to be very strong. Highly recommended.

This is a great toy that stimulates creativity in my 5 year old daughter. She has lots of fun playing in it, balancing, turning, spinning, standing (as demonstrated in the product picture.) She has found lots of other ways to use it, and I enjoy watching her creativity flow as she looks for new uses. It is super versatile and a staple toy in our house now. Even though she is at the upper end of the reccomended age group, she is having lots of fun with her bilibo. Even the name has prompted word play and silliness.

Terrific Toy!
Posted 10/13/2009 by K. Raymond

Rating:

I bought this toy for my 1 year old son who has special needs. He loves to sit in it and read his books. It helps his posture, which is why I bought it. But I let my older children play with it when he isn't using it. They LOVE it as well. They use their imaginations and play with it in lots of ways. I think this is one of the best toys I've bought my children since I've had children for almost 8 years.

Bilibo is the best

Bilibo chair is the favorite toy of my daughters for her 3rd birthday! She is finding so many creative ways to use it and she never gets bored of it. We've even used it as a step stool for the kitchen sink so she could wash her hands like the big kids! I very much recommend this product to anyone who finds it hard to buy for the kid who has EVERYTHING! You won't go wrong with the Bilibo at all!

Someone asked me "What exactly is the purpose of the bilibo?" We've used it for so many things already, and we've only had it two weeks. My favorite - using it to pick up the toys. One day my son will probably figure out that it's not really a game. Until then, I'll just enjoy a tidy living room.

My 2 year old niece was not sure what to think of it at first so I showed her she could stand on it. She thought that was great fun. Later, after the crowd cleared out from the birthday party, she really got in to it - putting it on her head, spinning around in it, and playing with it in the bath. I was so glad to be able to give her a gift that she can use to sharpen her imagination.

Open-ended fun for all ages (of kids)
Posted 6/16/2009

Rating:

We recently bought this for my 3 y.o. son hoping it would help him burn off some energy over the summer. He loves it! His 5 y.o. brother really likes it as well. Both boys enjoy balancing on top of it, as well as spinning around in it like a chair. It's great for helping develop balance which my oldest needs. I can (barely) sit in it too and think it's pretty fun myself! I wish they made a bigger one for adults. My 6 month old son has recently started crawling under it so it's like a turtle shell. Like I said, fun for all ages!

Bilibo Is A Hit
Posted 1/6/2009

Rating:

We figured we would get a Bilibo for our 1 and 3 year olds and try it. I think we'll get a second soon. Our 1 year old son likes to be rocked in it and our 3 year old girl uses it as a helmet, a big belly, stepping stone, chair, baby crib. etc. Sometimes we give her ideas about ways to use it, but she comes up with her own as well. I think it's something they can grow with as well. It's fun to have a basic (and quiet) toy and watch the kids use their imagination with it.

Plan on keeping this on my list of gifts to send to others (my friends children will open at Christmas) !

We have two full size Bilibos and six minis in my house; combine with 4 and 2 year old kids, and you get tons of fun! We play with them daily, take the minis to the pool (they float really well, and spin and scoop perfectly for water or sand play), and in general totally LOVE the Bilibos! She uses it to read, as her podium, her princess castle, with her babies, turtle, in the bath, in the lake absolutely wonderful product. I actually have been looking at this since Christmas and finally purchased it in July, I can honestly say that it is one of the best purchases we have made and will purchase another. Creative fun for everyone!

I recently purchased 4 bilibos for my children-ages 5, 4, 2 and 2. It is rare to find a toy that all ages can enjoy, but the bilibo is just that! Some of the uses we've discovered are doll cradle, stepping "stones", turtle shell, car tunnel, cat bed, and the kids just keep finding new uses each day. My 5-year old and 4-year old love to spin inside the bilibo and can get going very fast. My 2-year olds don't have the balance to be able to spin on their own but they enjoy it when I slowly spin them around. A great feature is that the bilibos stack neatly into each other so they don't take up much space. Everyone who sees them asks where we bought them and are intrigued by this strange new toy. My kids love them and I love that it encourages them to be imaginitive and creative.

My 4 year old has a sensory processing disorder. The movement that this toy provides simulates that of swinging on a tire hanging from a tree. This helps in some sensory perception issues that my son experiences. He has only had this for about a week, but so far he loves it. He loves to sit and spin around in it, which is exactly the reason I bought it. All the other benefits of this toy are just a bonus. My 3 year old loves it, too. Our son is enjoying the Bilibo both indoors & out. It is a wonderful toy. However the product did not look 100% new. It came with scuffs and scratches on the innerside surface and out. Products sold by Fat Brain Toys are new products. We contacted our customer to offer a refund or replacement for the scratched product. Rating:

I purchased Bilibos for my grandchildren (ages 4, 2, 2, and 10 months). I had a feeling that they would be a fun and creative interactive toy. After you have been a grandparent for awhile, you become numb trying to find fun, stimulating toys that don't make obnoxious sounds, aren't made of cheap plastic, and deserve a place in your grandchildren's playroom. I was so excited for their responses and to watch their little minds devise new activities!

This product is so great. It's built for the child to sit on it, sit in it, spin in it, use it as a hat, put toys in it, roll balls in it, hide things under it, the list goes on and on. My 6 year old and 22 month old both love it. There are endless options of creative play with this toy. It's all up to the imagination. I think we'll have it around a long long time. (A lot longer than electronic toys that have already been cast aside.)

I had a plastic seat when I was a kid and my mom still has it - I'm 42! All the kids sit in it and spin. When I saw the Bilibo I thought it was similar and was quite excited, plus it had all those great reviews. I think it stinks. Neither of my children played with it for more than 30 seconds. It doesn't function the way I expected but regardless of that - the kids don't find it interesting or fun. We are planning on returning both Bilibos we purchased.

The pink one was given to my 2 yr old niece (with brothers, ages 4, 6 & 8). They did not show the slightest interest in it, maybe because of the color. My niece did not really seem to want to play with it; however, I could not keep my 2.5 yr old daughter away from it! She put her dolls in it - dragged them all over the house in it - rocked them (she has an actual baby cradle, but chose to put her babies in the Bilibo!) and she kept trying to sit in it. She is delighted with her yellow Bilibo. She is sitting in it, and giving spin rides to all her dollies and animals. When I put it on my head, it scares her a bit, but she is still very small.

Rating:

My granddaughter at first said, "What is this?" I told her it's a toy to use in any way she'd like. She started by standing in it and rocking back and forth. Next she sat in it and rocked. After a while she turned it over and stood on it with one leg in a bent leg position like a heron. After I noticed it with her other gifts in it. And still later she sat in it reading her book. She's 7 but her 2 year old brother and 5 year old sister were just as inventive with their Bilibos. We did supervise the 2 year old. A great toy, just as I had read it would be.

I purchased this toy for my daughters, 14 months and 2 1/2 years old, based on awards and user reviews. I was not disappointed. Of the ridiculous amount of toys the girls received, this is the only one they have continued to play with. They use it as a chair, hat, swing, cradle for their "babies." It has also been fun for adults. The uncles were dragging my girls around in the Bilibo and spinning them in circles... The girls (and the uncles) couldn't get enough! I recommend this to everyone!

It is very good, pleasing quality material, my baby knew right away that she should sit in it. Only thing, that she didn't expect, that she would tip over on her back. It scared her and I think she is kind of afraid to play with it so much. She still plays with it in many different ways, she puts some blocks into it and carries it around, she gets into it and carefully turns around. She is 2 years old. Also the bottom of Bilibo is getting scratched. I cannot give the highest rating, sorry.

I was a little nervous about how my three year old niece would receive the Bilibo since there are no instructions for its use. At first glance, she thought it a bit odd, but after a fifteen minute period she sat in it and began to drag it around. Soon enough her five year old brother wanted in on the action. He too sat inside and wanted to take a spin. He played with the Bilibo until his sister insisted on getting her yellow thing back. It later became a feed bucket for grandpa as he pretended to be a horse. Personally, I like to throw things into to watch them fly out.

Review for bilibo
Posted 12/19/2007 by Carol Fox

Rating:

I was surprised to see that my three grandchildren (aged 5, 3, & 2) weren't really enthralled with their Bilibos. I got them each one, and showed them the booklet that came with them, to give them some ideas of how it's used. I sat the children in them and twirled them, but they were not impressed. Maybe over time they will be drawn into playing with them. I liked the idea of them, but perhaps these children prefer something that lights up and/or plays music, as so many toys today do! (Note from Fat Brain Toys: We recommend giving children the Bilibo without the instruction booklet and then sitting back to watch. The joy of discovery is what makes Bilibo a unique toy. Children tend to decide for themselves what to do with Bilibo.)

Fabulous
Posted 12/12/2007 by Kerri Lapointe

Rating:

Setting: Home

I ordered the Bilibo for my 18 month old for Christmas. Needless to say, it stayed wrapped only about a day before my curiosity of how he would use it got the better of me. I have been looking for a toy that would pry my son away from a book for a few moments in order to use and further develop some of his gross motor skills. This product is it. He walked up to it with his head cocked to one side and a grin slowly started across his face. He immediately sat in it and tipped back and forth while chanting "mocking, mocking" (rocking). He then stood up, picked it up and moved it to a different location in the room and when he dropped it it was upside-down, if you will. Again he sat on it for a moment and then got up again. It went on to become a basket, an over-sized helmet (a la "Space Balls") a gift to others in the room and finally an objet d'amour. It now joins the ranks with the mongoose puppet and his Beatrix Potter books. This is a fabulous product that sparks imagination beyond anything an adult could fathom.

I bought the Bilibo for my 2 year old for Christmas. My 5 and 7 year old girls have played with it a little and thought it was wonderful and wished they could also get one for Christmas.
The bilibo is extremely sturdy and can hold a lot of weight. You can sit in it and rock or just read. Very fun and stimulating to kid's brains. I wish that I could get one in every color.

Creative and Imaginative Toy
Posted 11/7/2007 by Leanne L Cade

Rating:

I bought this bilibo for my 18 month old. I was unsure whether or not it would capture his attention beyond the initial WOW! He has played with it multiple times, and each time he comes up with something new. First it was a chair, then a hat, then a bucket for his toys. In a world with many toys that seem to lose their draw almost immediately, I absolutely relish this toy and its endless possibility for creative and imaginative play!

I was pleased with the quality of the Bilibo. It is hard impact plastic that is substantial. I am a healthy adult female and I am able to stand on it without worry. My grandson has had the bilibo for a few days, but has used it as a seat, a hat, a drum and a platform. It is limited only by his imagination and requires no batteries. I am happy with my purchase.

Best Simple Creative Toy Out There!

My two year old used a bilibo at her Kindermusik class and she absolutely loved it. All the kids loved them, so I had to buy one. Actually, I bought two! The bilibo is a simple, sturdy toy that allows imagination to flow. It's neat to watch all the ways the children play with bilibos, from putting them on their heads and peeking through the holes, to balancing and rocking their baby dolls to sleep in them. The bilibo is one of the best out there! Even my ten year old joins in the fun!

Cute & Creative, But Our Twins Aren't Interested!
Posted 8/2/2007

We purchased these for our twins when they were almost 2 years old and they showed no interest in the Bilibo's at that time. They are now 2 1/2 yrs old and they are still sitting in a corner, while they prefer to play with their Lego's and Wedgits. Our older kids find the Bilibo's fun to spin in, but they are too big to sit in them properly. With that in mind, I hope that our twins will enjoy playing with the Bilibo's when they get a bit older. Until then, I have decided to store them.

So far, my son's Green Bilibo has been a turtle shell, a stepstool, and a spinner, and that's just the first week. Our 2 1/2 year old loves playing with this toy, and continues to try using it in different ways. (Even Mom and Dad have taken a spin or two in it!) We're looking forward to what new uses he comes up with in the years ahead (this thing is solid! It's a nice change from the typical flimsy plastic toys at other stores).

Multi-Functional Toy
Posted 4/4/2007 by Chris M.

Rating:

We bought this toy for our 10 month old son. We decided to buy it now, even though it is rated for slightly older kids. Right now we carefully rock and slowly spin our son in this - which results in laughs and smiles on his part. He has also discovered that if he throws balls into the Bilibo they roll around and make lots of noise - also a winner with him. And, if we flip it, we can hide toys under it which he then tries to extract in various ways. We also had our niece and nephew play with it. Our niece is seven. She is on the tall side and had problems sitting and spinning in it. Our nephew, who is five, could sit and spin in it, although he too was getting a bit tall for doing that. He enjoyed putting his toy soldiers under it and on it. Overall, I think this will be a toy that our son will get a lot of use out of and will grow into over the years.

Most of my nieces and nephews enjoy the basics around the house more than any fancy toy loaded with bells and whistles. They usually play with pots and pans or Tupperware out of the cabinet. Ok, Especially For Younger Children

This is a pretty good product. My 3 year old daughter is a little big for us to spin her in it. Our 1 year old is a tad big to spin, too. I would recommend maybe a 6-9 month old if you are wanting to put the child in and slowly spin her/him around in it. My children like to put toys in and spin it. My 3 year old likes to stand on it (hump side up) and jump off of it. We think it has enabled her to develop a better sense of balance. While it's not the favorite toy in our house, it's a fun addition to our TV room. We pull it out every so often and they play with it again.

Good Potential
Posted 2/12/2007 by Catherine

Rating:

The design is great. I love "open-ended" toys that promote creativity. My 3 year old has had hers for 1 week now and it has already been used as a "sit-n-spin", a basket for toys, a cave for her dinosaurs, a helmet, a step stool, a swing for her bear, etc. You get the picture! My 7 month old also finds it fascinating. I can see potential for this toy being used in many different ways over the coming years. The reason I gave it only four stars is because it's a bit bulky for storage and it's plastic so the static in the dry weather causes it to pick up all the debris off what I thought were my clean floors. But my daughter seems truly pleased with it and that's all that matters.

Review of bilibo
Posted 1/23/2007

Rating:

I really like the idea of this toy, though my girls haven't yet taken to it as much as I'd hoped. The 1 year old is too little to manuever it. The 3 yr old enjoys using it as a hat, shell, or house, but hasn't really figured out how to spin in it. If a kid leans backward while sitting/spinning in this toy, they could fall back and possibly hit their head. My 3 yr old can't remember not to do that. A child who is a bit more coordinated or physically precocious than mine might find it lots of fun.

It's a good idea for a toy. I took a chance on buying it, but my kids haven't really latched on to it. When they do play with it, their favorite thing to do is spin around in it. This is definitely a toy that needs to be tailored specifically to a child's personality.

Bilibo

Rating:

I was excited to get this toy as it appeared to be so different. The toy was for my daughter who is 3 years 4 months old. I have to tell you it has been a total bust. I wanted my daughter to have time to play with it and I wanted my neices and nephews to try it out too. The children range in age 2, 4, 6 and 7. Not one of them wanted to play with it. Even the prospect of spinning in it did not appeal to them. So far it has been sitting in a corner - unused. In time it may be used as a container but even that has not happened! Oh well - you live and learn!

Great Toy for all Kinds of Play!
Posted 1/3/2007 by Lindsay Young

Rating:

Setting: Home

We bought this for our daughter, and even though she's not quite 2 years old, she loves it. She uses it to throw toys and dolls in, to sit in it and read, have us spin her, and - her favorite - use it as a big hat. I only bought one because I wanted to see how she reacted to it, so we'll be buying more in the future. The only downside is that the plastic tends to get scratched on our wood floors, so it's going to get more than normal wear-and-tear on it than if it was used mostly in a carpeted family room. (But what kids' toys don't get worn after years of use?) This is a fabulous product that's so beautifully designed, we love to have it out all the time!

I personally loved the product. However, it would have been nice to have a tag that explained how this is an "open-ended toy" and why toys such as the Bilibo are so good for children's development. I think the parents of the children I gave them to were confused by its lack of specific function. I personally think the toy is great and hope you continue to offer such items.

Held Its Own In A Sea Of Presents
Posted 12/28/2006 by A. Blakey

Rating:

Setting: Home

The Bilibo held its own in the overwhelming sea of presents. It has been a hit with our daughters (ages 3-1/2 and 1-1/2). They've had them for less than a week and are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what they can do with them. So far, their favorite activity is to sit in the Bilibos and have their dad spin them. But they've worn them as helmets, for peek-a-boo, as a "rock" to stand on and jump off of, and as a seat for stuffed animals and dolls. The Bilibo also sparked a great deal of creativity and laughter from the adults who examined the gift on Christmas Eve ("Luke, I am your father.") I would highly recommend the Bilibo to anyone looking for a good gift for children. It's so simple that's it's absolutely wonderful! It really encourages imagination. I can see this as a gift that will be with us and used for many years to come.

I purchased the Bilibo for my 2 year old daughter. Within one hour she was doing everything with it they show in the booklet. It was a stool, a chair, a handy dandy carry-all, a helmet and more. The Bilibo is very well made, very sturdy and brightly colored. The size is just right for carrying and sitting. I wasn't sure if she would understand what to do with it at first, but my fears quickly disappeared. If you have an active, curious child, take a chance on the Bilibo. It's really quite fun.

Great Toy for Creative Play!
Posted 11/16/2006

Rating:

These toys are great! I ordered 2 for my daughter, and then told her preschool teachers about them. They ordered 5 for the class. They brought them out on a rainy day, and were an instant success. The kids thought up about 20 uses for them on the first day, and are still coming up with new ones. I love Bilibo's open-ended nature which encourages creative play. The kids rock in them, spin in them, drum with them, carry babies and toys in them, hide beneath them, jump off them, and generally just carry them around and love them. They were immediately attractive to this group of 2-3 yr olds. They're made of great quality, hard plastic. They're so sturdy I can even stand on them myself!

Hoorah for Open-Ended Toys!

Rating:

Bilibo was a great 2nd birthday gift for my little girl. It has inspired lots of giggles, active play, and imagination. The only problem we've had with it is my preschooler's tendency to hog it for herself when we aren't watching. Good thing her birthday is coming up, too. I have a hunch that these will come in very handy as energy burners while we're cooped up through the long winter his year. It's funny how the simplest toys can be the most entertaining.

Fun Toy Even for 16 Month Old
Posted 9/29/2006

Rating:

We got this for our daughter because we thought it was a very cool idea to have a toy which is not meant to be anything in particular. She is only 16 months old (I believe the suggested start age is 2) but she already enjoys it. She likes to lean on it, turn it over, and play with water that we've put inside of it. She also likes to step inside of it which is a little dangerous without supervision since she will immediately fall down. I didn't give it the highest rating only because I can't say for sure what her experience with it will be when she's older. But I definitely recommend it.

Bilibo
Posted 8/10/2006

Rating:

This toy looks great on the website & all the reviews that I'd read about it were fantastic, so I took the plunge and ordered it for my almost two-year old. He was initially very curious about the new object, but he hasn't really taken to it. It just sits in the corner for now gathering dust. I think perhaps that it would work better for an older child or for a child with siblings. I am also concerned that he may use it as a step stool in the future (something I did not think about prior to my purchase of the Bilibo). Overall, a good design and well executed, but like everything else, it just depends on the individual child.

Mask, Turtle Shell

It is indeed multi-functional; the thing is, only kids know all the functions. When we unpacked it, my wife said, "What?" but after a couple of days as a a chair, a mask and turtle shell, she came to understand that this toy is merely a vehicle for a child's imagination. Note: It could be dangerous for kids just learning to walk, our 11 month old has already had a couple of hard lessons in how cruel mistress gravity can be with this thing.

Whatever it is, it's cool.
Posted 7/20/2006 by Bob

Rating:

I got this even though my daughter is only 2 months old just because it looked so interesting. She fits in it OK and we can rock her, but it's no match for the neglectomatic swing or even the car seat in that department, so never mind that. However, some friends came over last night with their 2 year old daughter and she went straight for it, sat down in it, and started spinning and rocking. It didn't hold her attention for too long at first, but she did go back to it several more times in the evening, putting other toys in it and under it and putting it over her head, so clearly it was attractive to her. It's just a neat, solid, smooth, curvy thing that I'm sure will get used in a bunch of different ways. It's solid enough to stand up to some serious abuse, I could stand on it and it wouldn't bend or break. I'm sure the nice shiny finish will wear, especially once it gets outdoors, but there's no way it's going to break or wear through.

A rating of bilibo
Posted 7/19/2006 by Jeff

Rating:

My son, who just turned 2, was pretty confused when we gave him the Bilibo, and at first was more interested in the cardboard box and packing paper that came with it. Since then, he's used it to transfer blocks from the floor to the storage bin, as a "spinner" for his toy lion, and has sat it in once or twice, dubbing it the "wobble chair." Then he kind of lost interest in it. But I think he'll return to it. When he's a bit older I'm sure he'll sit in it and spin around and giggle and it will be, like, one of the best toys ever.

I did purchase this as a gift, but I let my 3 year old daughter play with it for a few days before I put it away. We are planning on getting her on for Christmas so I wanted to see how she liked it. She loved it! The minute I took it out of the box she gasped and said "what's that?" She then sat in it, wore it as a hat, put the new kitten in it, stood on it and did a ballerina pose, had daddy spin her in it and just sat and rocked in it. She played for about 2 hours straight. It is constructed very well, my husband stood on it to see how much weight it would hold and without bending AT ALL it holds 220lbs. I love this product and I'm going to be buying at least 3 more by christmas.

What a wonderful toy to help tap into children's creativity and imagination! My 4 and 6 year old boys took to their Bilibos immediately. They pretended they were turtle shells, helmets, spinning tops, revolving seats, bowls, etc. with no prompting from me. They have learned they can keep their favorite toys in them, use them as car garages, put their stuffed animals in them and pretend they are feeding them, etc. My boys were very excited to know that I purchased the mini Bilibos for my 6 mo. old daughter. They like showing her how she can use it for her toys when she is old enough. Right now it is one of her favorite teething toys. The Bilibo is the catalyst that sparks imagination and creativity!

I bought this for my daughter's 2nd birthday and she LOVES it. Almost every day she finds new uses for her Bilibo, and as a grownup I couldn't think of half of those things! It's great for indoor, outdoor, and apparently as of a few days ago, pretty nifty as a bathtoy in my house.

The bilibo seemed like a fun idea. My son hasn't been as creative with it as I expected, but he likes it! He likes to sit in it and spin around in a circle. He also likes to peek through the two holes. If I had known how he would play with it, I would not have purchased it.

Our 5 year old son has had a lot of fun with it. It's definitely the most fun to sit in and spin or rock. He also turns it over and balances on it. He weighs a little over 40 lbs., and it holds his weight fine. His dad put it on his head and pretended he's an alien, so there's a lot of possibilities with this toy.

I purchased this for my little girl turning 1 based on the idea of how great abstract play is. Unfortunately, she hasn't gotten into playing with it (though she thinks it's fun if I sit her in it for a minute) and my 2.5 year old boy typically only briefly plays with it to put it on his head and look through the two holes. We haven't had the Bilibo during winter to play with in the snow or in the summer to play with in the beach/water, but I'm hopeful that will lead to more play. I'm also thinking that maybe I bought the toy prematurely, but like I said, I remain hopeful that the kids will grow to like it more- especially based on the other reviews which contributed to my purchasing the toy.

I first heard about this toy from a friend whose son received it for his 3rd birthday. I bought it for my not quite 2 year old daughter. She wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but once I showed her a few things to do with it she likes it. Currently she enjoys standing on it and jumping off, sitting in it, sitting it and having me spin her around, and throwing her toys in it and spinning them around.
I can't wait to see what she does with it once her imagination develops even more.

At first, my 2 year old son was not excited about it at all. But since then, two weeks have passed and I've seen him slide down it, saying, "weeeee," - as well as use it as a bed for his baby doll. I do believe that as he gets older, he will find lots of other ways to play with it.

My daughter is 3. She wasn't quite sure of what to do with Bilibo and really relied on me to show her so we opened the instructions and flipped through all of the pictures to figure something out. She wanted to put it up on the couch but I was concerned about safety. We tried it in the snow and it was a not go. I'm not sure what we will do with it, but maybe something will come to mind.

I bought two Bilibos. One for my almost 3 year old and one for my almost 18 month old. They both need active play so I was hoping that they would play with the Bilibo together. They were excited at first - wearing it over their heads, stepping on them. However, they haven't played with them since. I think it's because they are both not strong enough to sit and spin themselves around. They keep falling over and can't get their balance in them. I intend on keeping them because I see the potential for great imaginative and active play. I just think they're still too young to appreciate the toys.

I bought the bilibo for my grandson. My daughter-in-law suggested the choice after speaking with a pre-school educator. We are both employed in the medical community and we were tired of the run of the mill toys on the market compounded by daily recalls. My grandson loved it. I feel it creates an opportunity to use his imagination. I bought one for my grandaughter as well.

This an open-ended toy which allows for my little one to learn through exploration while utilizing her creative intuition. The possible uses for this bilibo will positively change with her interests over the next several years. One of the best attributes is its versatility: how it promotes both independent play and interactive play.
She is using it at 11 months right now....a bit early... but she is on soft carpet since it is tippy. For now, she just likes to spin in it.

After seeing the bilbo toy on the Fat Brain website I purchased two, thinking my 18 month old son might enjoy sitting in them or pushing his toys around in them.
I was right and wrong. Not only does my 18 month old enjoy sitting in the bilbos and pushing his toys around in them, but he also likes flipping them over and climbing up on top of them over and over again (at his age/size, they are just big enough to challenge his budding climbing skills). In addition, he spins, rocks and tips this way and that. The bilbos are among his favorite toys!
Another surprising thing about the bilbos? My 7 and 8 year old sons also like them! They sit in them and spin and spin and spin. They also like to hold them up and pretend they are turtles or wear them as masks on top of their heads. I was very surprised that they showed any interest at all in a toy I thought to be strictly of preschool age appeal. But, it was great to see them using their imagintions and enjoying simple play together.

I have bought the Bilibo for both my nephew and my god daughter when each turned two. It was an INSTANT hit for both the boy and the girl. My nephew opened it last on his birthday and chose it over all the other toys to play with--using it to sit and spin, but also turning it upside down using its dome as a home for his super heroes.
