The whale doesn't stay fastened together well. It barely squirts water when pushing the tail. However, my daughter loves to play with the plastic toys, and I enjoy the shapes, colors, and animals to help her learn.

This toy is adaptable to a child's growing skill set. First, it's just fun to hold the blocks, then it's fun to put the blocks in the holes, then it's fun to use the squirt feature. It's always fun to scoop water with the base. It's an excellent toy and the second one I've had. Unfortunately, the second one has a problem with the squirt feature that I can't fix.

Overall, it's a good toy. My son is 16 months and loves to play with it. He likes to play with all the pieces and try to match up the colors and shapes to get them in the whale, and I like the fact that he's learning shapes and colors and having fun. I'm not too impressed with the spraying mechanism though, it's awkward and hard to press the button (especially for little hands), and it barely spits out any water.

I was a little disappointed with this toy. I was looking forward to my son playing with it in the tub. It doesn’t squirt water just dribbles out of the blowhole and doesn’t float well at all. As a dry toy it’s great. My son likes it and that is really what matters.

I ordered this for my daughter as a part of a "bath time" theme for this year's gift giving. She is really starting to LOVE bath time and I thought this would be a great toy as she really likes things that let water drip out of them. It is colorful and very cute so she likes to hold and grab at it. The only criticism I have is that it does not float well as water fills it quickly and the blow hole squirt is pretty weak so she doesn't notice it much. She does love the sprinkles from each of the shapes when you fill them and hold them up. I'm sure matching the shapes with the holes in the whale will become fun as she grows as well.

My 11 month old nephew loved this toy. Even before he got it in the tub, he was matching the shapes and pressing the spout button.
