Everything They're Cracked Up to Be (hehe)

I have to say that I love these little guys. I bought them for use as a stress reliever. The slow color-morphing glow is a great mood elevator. I'm sure there's some science behind it as to why, but I don't care much about that, because it's true, and these eggs do the trick.
I've had many color-changing lamps and balls, but they either ran on some ridiculous size of battery or were large, bulky, and way too bright.
The best part of these wonders are the rechargeable batteries. Each egg has a battery that lasts for up to 6 hours (I've had them last longer) and a charge time of up to 10 hours (after full discharge, though I've never seen longer than 3 hours myself.)
Since the eggs are small, about 5" tall, they aren't overpoweringly bright. Don't get me wrong, they still put out a lot of light. The color dispersion is pretty good. The frosted color helps make the entire egg the single color. There are some spots where the former color shows for a brief second, but you have to be looking for the flaw to find it.
The plight of these eggs is the charge stand. While it's very nice looking, it is a horrible design. There are two spring-loaded contacts on the bottom of each egg and two concentric rings for each egg on the charging stand. The problem is the on/off protrudes past the bottom of the egg and gets in the way of the contacts seating. It takes a bit of time to get the egg into a correct position to charge. There's no specific direction the egg needs to face, (which I'm sure was meant to be a pro, but wound up being a con.) The battle isn't over when you get the charge light for the egg to come on... you have to make sure it's going to stay... sometimes the slightest tap of the base or surface will unseat the contacts and the recharge light will go off ... it's not a huge deal, just rock the egg back and forth to get the light to turn on and tap the base to make sure the light doesn't go off... I'd say it takes 5-20 seconds to properly seat an egg.
Even in lieu of the one flaw, these are fantastic, and I love them. You should try them for stress relief, put them on your desk. put one about 6" away from your monitor so that it is in your peripheral vision when you are looking at the monitor. You don't need to stare at the egg for the effect. let the other half of your brain do the looking.
I really wish I could give this 4 1/2 Stars, because it more-accurately reflects the quality, but there aren't any half stars available, and I can't give it a 5 due to the minor issue with the charging stand. Thanks for reading!

I have had several of the single oggz lights in the past. They all have eventually started to "strobe" and lose the intensity of light in various colors. I guess they just wear out.
This triple set is beautiful as all oggz lights have been in the beginning and we look forward to enjoying it for as long as it continues to function.
Is there an expected life length for these products?

I bought OGGZ as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves anything that has a color-changing LED light. We both love the product. It goes great in any room and is light and easy to store. The colors are awesome and it really adds to the room. I would recommend this product to anyone. It's different and unique.

An ingenious, inspiring, and entertaining toy that's both adaptable and durable. We love charging them up and then leaving them on, together or singly, as room accents, mood lighting, or a happy distraction while we work. We're huge fans of the OGGZ, and love that they're rechargeable, just the right size, and soothingly chromatic. A great addition to our household!

The only reason this product did not get my highest rating is becasue of the "extra" time it takes to get a correct connection on the charger with the Oggz. However, the product is wonderful and I have no qualms at having purchased it. I am very pleased.

This was my second purchase of Oggz. They're mesmerizing. I think the recharging base could be designed better. It's very touchy to get the Oggz in the proper position to recharge.

These are really fun. We are a hospital staff putting together a relaxation room. They seem ideal for the purpose. We have sat in the dark in meetings watching them and holding them. They are fascinating. I do not know the quality as we have only had them a week, but so far they are a great success.

This product is unlike any I have ever seen. My children think it is great. The eggs turn different colors and are visible during the day and especially at night. I personally get a little nauseous watching the colors change, but it doesn't bother my kids. The only reason I would not give it the highest rating is because there isn't much you can do with them in terms of playing. But they make a great nightlight and conversation piece.

I Really Like The Oggz

I really do enjoy the Oggz. I will be able to use them in a lot of different ways. They are really cool. They light up, and it just makes the room light up when the lights are off. They were very well worth the money that I paid for them. I will order more sometime if I need more of them. They are just awesome.

This is a really cool item. I really like that the base/charger looks nice enough to sit out on a table. I would buy a lot more if they were a little cheaper.

Everyone Loves the Oggz

I bought these for my husband for his birthday. I like buying unique things, and this fit perfectly! He loved them, and so did my 18 month old son. It's pretty tough to get my son to share his dad's gift with his dad, so I may end up ordering another set. We love them, and we love that they are made of plastic (almost baby proof!) rather than glass like other similar lamps I've found. The glow they give off is wonderful, and if you get them turned on just right, one will always be a different primary color then the other!

OGGZ is OGGZ

OGGZ do exactly what they say they do and make great night lights for young kids. They are a good conversation piece for adults for about ten minutes but then the thrill wears off quickly. Here is a suggestion for the next version of OGGZ - get rid of the charging contacts, seal these babys up and let them charge by induction. A pressure switch that would adjust the morphing speed would also be very desirable. Then OGGZ would be truly amazing.

REVIEW OF OGGZ LIGHTS
Posted 11/28/2005 by Laura Conti

Rating:

I love these lights, they can be placed anywhere you want to bring a bit of color to. They offer enough light to place on my desk at night and type by. The fact that they can last up to six hours on a single charge is definitely a plus!! The only drawback, which is just a personal opinion, is the rotation of the color goes too swiftly.
