It was slightly larger than I expected, a touch bigger than a softball. The item makes a quiet hum when in operation but not bothersome. It is battery powered out of the box (4 AA cells) and there is a jack for a 6V DC adapter (not included). The patterns are reminencent of a spirograph. I counted about 10 different patterns but keep in mind the patterns are constantly changing. Fun toy and very reasonable for the price; we are using it for a summer school program.
You can also put the item in a voice/sound activated mode.

For the price of this product, it worked very well! We used the product to introduce pee-wee basketball children for their championship games. They thought it was wonderful! Runs off of batteries, so it was easy to use.

This product was exactly as described. It worked so well. Exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a laser light. Amazing for the price.

It is a better product than I expected. The Sound detection mode, where the laser show stays in sync to music is very cool.

This Red Hot Laser Light Show was purchased as a gift, but I could not resist trying it out. I love the product however I wish it came with an AC adapter.
