My son is bonkers for bumper cars any time we go to the amusement park so this was right up his alley. They are a good size and very sturdy. We're having a blast!

Great fun!

The Bump 'n' Chuck R/C Bumper Cars were definitely the highlight of my son's fifth birthday. They take a seemingly large number of batteries (10 AAA's between the two cars and two remotes), but the kids can play with them for hours on just one set of batteries...I can't say that about all their battery operated toys, that's for sure. I was impressed that not only do these cars have good maneuverability on the hard surfaces of our house, they also manage fairly well on the carpeted floors as well (albeit a bit slower, and the batteries run down faster on carpet). The remotes are easy enough for even my 3 year old to use, yet lights up the face of my 8 1/2 year old 'nephew'. Definitely a winner and will be browsing fatbraintoys.com for other gift ideas!

A fun take on remote controls
Posted 29 days ago

Purchased this for my 3 and 6 year-old sons for Christmas. Finally, a toy where it is OK and made to bump into each other on purpose - something perfect for two young boys! I got this for a few reasons: liked having a joint gift for them; they love bumper cars at fairs; a good way to get out some energy. We haven't had a lot of luck with remote controls in the past, but so far this one is holding up fine. And most of all, they like playing with it! In fact, so do Mom and Dad. It is a little hard to get used to the controls and make them actually bump - but still fun for both of them and not frustrating. I recommend it!

This seems to be a great toy, however one of the cars didn't work properly. The yellow car will start to work fine, but then randomly starts/stops responding to the remote control throughout the playtime. I will be contacting the manufacturer per the number on users guide.

These are very fun cars, easy to operate and work well. When hit on the side, the driver pops out along with a funny scream. I bought them for my 7-year old grandson, but I enjoyed playing with him, too. Access to the battery compartment requires an adult with a small screw driver. I would recommend them.

My 8 year old son has shown mild interest in remote control toys in the past so I wasn't sure how popular this would be with him. I'm pleased to report that he LOVES this and has played with it a ton. It's much better than typical remote-control toys because you actually have a goal, to chuck the driver of the opposing car from his vehicle (whereas with other remote cars, you just drive around aimlessly). This toy is a huge hit with our whole family...plus friends who have played it when they've visited!

I bought this toy for my daughter's 5th birthday. She loved it and they worked well the first time but after that, one of the cars started to move jerkily. They were not used in a rough manner so I am sure that it was not due to misuse. My husband has always been the other user. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: Upon receiving this review, we provided our customer with information to receive a replacement for the defective product.)

Great Toy!

My nine year old daughter loves these cars. They really get going and are a lot of fun. The only drawback (and it's minor) is that they don't work as well on concrete, they seem to do best on linoleum or hardwood, so they are mainly an indoor toy. But they are more than worth the money and I'm very happy with this purchase.

Its great, fun, it even works on the carpet and just not hard wood floors or cement. It was a little hard to get used to the control but its well worth it. The little guy that gets ejected can put a smile on any face. My 4 year old grandkids could not work the control very well but that still didnt stop the fun. 10 year old grandson really enjoys it and it gave him a challenge. Grandpa wants one of his own!

A fun toy for kids of all ages!

I highly recommend this product! We bought this toy for our five-year-old twins, and they simply love it. The cars are easy for even young children to control, and all of the parts seem well made overall. I fear we may be going through a lot of AAA batteries in the near future, but that's about the only negative thing I can say about this fine product.

Both cars make noises and seem to be working, but neither remote control lights up or does anything to move the cars. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: Our customer received replacements for the defective products. She reports that the new Kid Galaxy cars are fun!)

I bought the item as a gift for my son's 6th birthday. He was very excited to play with it, but when we put in the batteries one of the remotes worked intermittently, then not at all, which is VERY FRUSTRATING for a 6 year old hopped up on birthday cake. The company is sending a replacement remote, so we'll see if that takes care of the problem.

The cars are easy to operate and my 4 year grandson enjoys them. The quality of the toy is questionable. Another negative is that they require 10 batteries to operate both cars with both remotes. One remote was defective. A replacement was sent to me, but that remote was also defective. My son found the problem in the battery compartment and fixed it. A toy this expensive should work out of the box.
