The product is a classic. It was ordered in quantity because it will be used in educational kits for middle grade students. There are some positive points and a couple negative ones. I will begin with the "negative": The product is made in China and while the container says the logs are made of wood, they do not feel like wood. Now to put this into perspective, the manufacturer of the product-well, we all would like to see more American-made products but this issue is bigger than all of us. The fact is the product (the logs) are wood but the fact you cannot get a sliver from them makes those of us who remember playing with the originals a bit suspicious! This is something that kids will not notice. Now, to the positive:
Having Lincoln Logs stacked in the office has brought smiles to faces of everyone that walks in. Each person has stopped to share a story from their childhood and no one has been able to pass them by without opening a container and taking the logs out to "inspect" them. There appeared to be a need to touch their childhood memories. The wagon, horses, and "pioneers" included all add to the magic of playing with Lincoln Logs. Another important note is that people from all age groups identify with them; rather rekindling old memories or creating new ones, Lincoln Logs are a hit and no one gets a sliver!

My daughter, age 6, and my son, age 5, both love playing with the set. The Lincloln Logs had a picture of the building to make as well as step by step instructions with age appropriate diagrams. Both children could easily build the structures with little help. The log pieces also lend themselves to let the children creatively build other types of structures than those designed in the instructions.
The logs are sturdy pieces of wood and the plastic accompanying pieces are very colorful.

This was purchased to add more logs to my daughter's collection. She loves to build, and she is learning about how to keep things level and how to combine different logs for different effects.

The product is as pictured. I did however think there would be more pieces. My grandson enjoyed it and spent a lot of time playing with it. I think the original is a higher quality toy but that may just be my nostalgia.

My five year old loves the Lincoln Logs! After I taught her how the pieces went together, she was excited to make houses and play with the figures that came in the set. I like that she can build and learn building skills (our first play time involved her learning how an earthquake (our dog) will destroy a log cabin without a good foundation!). Lincoln Logs are a great toy for her age group.

Lincoln Logs, the traditional toy, has been great fun for my 8 year old son. He didn't take a real design interest in them until he was at least 6, as it takes a bit of planning to design appropriate windows, doors, and roofs. However, expansion kits, such as this one for us, are needed. It is easy to run out of pieces of appropriate sizes when designing your own structures. It's a great product for imaginative play.

Great set. My 4 year finds the cabin very difficult to build, but she enjoys making her own constructions. The horse and wagon are great and the little people are a nice touch.

Excellent toy for a young child. A toy that sparks creativity and does not require electronics. It's a good old fashioned building block type activity that the whole family can do together.

Love this product. Got it for my 6 year old, but my 2 younger children play with it as well. It is so great to see the old toys coming back that require some sort of imagination and brain power!

I am collecting the whole frontier town set for my grandson and found most of what I needed through Fat Brain Toys. I had not been able to find this anywhere else and the price was very reasonable.

My son has had great fun building and playing with this set. It works well with other Lincoln Log sets. Although the age range on the box says 4-7, my 9 year old enjoys this toy.

I had forgotten how much fun they can be. I put the Conestoga Homestead together myself and had a wonderful time doing it! You don't have to be 6 years old to enjoy Lincoln Logs!!
