There are several ways to use this toy : as a book, as a puzzle, to teach alphabeth later on or just play with figures and animals putting them on a fridge...

This product is excellent. My daughter loves it. What a great idea to have the "puzzle pieces" stay in magnetically! We are using it for letter sounds in speech therapy. She loves the bright colors and pictures. She can easily fit the pieces in their spots, not too easily but without getting overly frustrated. We also use the book for fine motor skills. I am sure that I will many more uses for it.

I absolutely love the magnetic books by Melissa and Doug! They are of the highest quality and last even through the toughest toddler! I bought this for my 3 year old because he loves his shapes one so much. He got his first one when he was only a year old and could actually place the pieces where they went. Now he can have fun doing doing this one and learn the alphabet at the same time!

Reading books, us reading to our 1-year-old daughter, is in our opinion one of the best ways to stimulate intellectual curiosity. Reading creates a desire to learn more and do more. But when the child can't read herself, her reading attentions span is reduced. This book has pull out pictures that attach magnetically to the appropriate spot in the book. Not only is she learning the critical visual and auditory thinking process that reading can engender like no other activity, but she can use tactile senses as well. A great item.

The quality of this ABC Book is wonderful, beyond my expectations. I love everything about this book. I got it for my 13 month old daughter and she is a little young for it. She has a hard time getting the magnets in and out as well as carrying the book, it's a little heavy for her. I think she will grow into it and begin to like it more as she does. I am glad I purchased though and it really is a great product so I gave it 5 stars. It also looks like it will last a long time!

Our 2 year old loves this book! Not only does it encourage naming and recognizing - but also fine motor development. We would recommend it highly.

MY 3 years old daughter love's it..It is great toy..And all of the puzzles pieses are so colorful..the puzzlelpieses are just wright size . It is good toy even for yonger kids.

Got this for my son on his 2nd birthday. He is interested in the alphabet, books, and puzzles, so he likes this product a lot. The wooden pages seem as though they will hold up to toddler-wear, and the magnetic puzzle pieces are colorful and easy to fit. Moreover, the magnetic pieces also stay in place nicely which, I'm hoping, will keep them from getting lost. I would recommend this unique ABC Book.

Fun puzzle! My 2 year old enjoys taking the pieces out and finding the right place for each one. At times it is a little heavy for her to carry around, but she manages.

This product is an excellent learning tool. My son loves it and likes puzzles so this is a way of doing his puzzles and also learning the alphabet.

High quality product. Very colorful. It's a bit heavy for my 2 year old since it's made out of wood. I put it in a plastic zipper bag so when he drops it, the pieces would not scatter around.

We love Melissa & Doug toys and it came through as hoped! This one was put together well, had great pictures to represent the letters, and very sturdy. My 2 1/2 year old loved playing with the magnets, although wasn't as interested in putting them back in the book. He probably will in a couple of months.

My son is 20 months old. He enjoys the pictures and colors in this book. The only thing that does get him frustrated is that the pieces are hard to manipulate. Other Melissa and Doug puzzles have little knobs for little hands to handle. I understand that this puzzle is recommended for children 2+, but I still probably wouldn't suggest this particular puzzle to parents.

My son loves the Melissa & Doug magnetic books. They are very easy for him to manipulate, and they are educational. He has learned so much through the puzzles.

Neat idea, but the pieces are too small and will be lost it is only a matter of time. They are also small enough to be a choking hazard.

My niece is 1 and 1/2 years old, I believe she'll grow this toy and enjoy playing with it. It is beautifully made. I think it's a great, educational toy. My only concern is that the pieces could be misplaced easily, and missing toy pieces is one of my pet peeves (as a mother of 2 small girls). I would recommend it as a nice gift, but definitely for over 2 years in my opinion.

I did not realize that the book was made out of wood. I guess I was expecting that thick cardboard. I really did like the book, I thought it was a good idea for children. I actually bought it as a gift for a younger child, but my 2 year old fell in love with it, so he ended up getting the book instead.

This magnetic book is of excellent quality, which is why I love Melissa & Doug products. The pictures are beautiful and realistic. My 10 month old daughter really enjoys taking objects out of spaces. She did like looking at the book and removing the pieces but to be honest it's a bit heavy for her to use right now. Even I need to hold it with 2 hands. It probably weighs between 1-2 pounds! Additionally, the "pages" are linked together with a thick shoelace, which makes the "book" ungainly. It would have been better if it was one big flat board with magnetic pieces. I'll get it out again when my daughter is 2 years old.

This product while durable and interesting for my 2 year old, was a little bit of a challenge to store. We just opened it today and I realized that the magnets are not that strong so there are essentially 26 little pieces that can fall out of the book at any time. I could understand if the magnets failed after a period of toddler use, however we have only used it a couple of times during the day and twice as I tried to put the book away on a shelf little wooden pieces fell out of the book. That's the negative. On the positive, my kid really liked pulling the pieces out and we were able to play two different games. The first was taking the pieces out of the book and then the second game was to create a pile of all the pieces and then randomly pulling a piece and guessing the letter which each item was associated with.

I gave this to my 2 1/2 year old grandson. He enjoyed taking the magnets from their spaces, but did'nt seem to be interested in what was on them. Maybe some larger, less detailed pictures on the magnets would hold his attention better.
I do like the overall composition, materials and workmanship of this toy. I think it will be around for many years for the other little ones to enjoy.

I bought this book for my 17 month old grandson and I think it will be a big hit. He loves magnets and is learning new words every day so the book should be perfect for him.

the wood book is way too heavy for a small child to hold and read- it must be set down and I did not care for that.
