Another great toy from Fat Brain! It's interesting, fun and educational. My grandchildren love you toys ... they have several of them and will continue to receive them.

The tomato and basil seeds sprouted but the cucumber did not. The students in my class were very excited to see that you could plant seeds in something other than dirt and they loved seeing the roots. We are ready to transplant our plants into dirt cups. I tried to go online to order more seeds and gel from the company, but they are not based in the US so we won't be able to use the product once the second set of gel caps is used up.

I purchased this as well as several other botanical kits for my daughters second birthday. Every day we check her plants, and they're growing wonderfully! I'm enjoying this every bit as much as my daughter, and will be purchasing another set next year. The only suggestion I could make would be to have more types of plants. I'd buy every set they made!

Purchased as a birthday present for a curious 5 year old boy who likes to see how everything works. I thought the price was a little high, but I would not have put it all together myself, so that's what I paid for. The growing medium and clear containers allow a good view of the seeds growing. I would rather buy science toys than anything else, so the kids get a chance to discover and ask questions. Great item.

I purchased this as a gift for my 7 yr. son in hopes of using it as a homeschool project also. It is awesome! All four of my children, even the 22 month old, love to check it each morning. And I don't mind the plants sitting on my counter, as they are decorative to boot!

Very cool product and it is very easy to get started! The end result takes some patience to obtain, but it is very interesting for children to learn about the underside of plants!

I was excited to have this product delivered to my office. I was disappointed I had to wait 2-3 weeks for the product to be on my desk. I found out I had to "plant" and put containers in a dark place before allowing me to display the item. I have not started to "plant" since my space to provide darkness is limited, pretty much unavailable. Transporting them to my home and back is even more difficult. I wish I had known this ahead of time. I think for class or family projects these would be great, but for a work environment these are not the greatest. Pretty, but not easy.

The plants have already begun to sprout! These are really amazing! The students come in every day to see what has happened overnight. I highly recommend this product to everyone.

A wonderful way to introduce children to the complex and underseen development of seed growth - from roots to sprout.

I used this product to promote an innovation campaign we are doing in our office. I split the box of three plantarium's up, each employee was given a plantarium, pack of seeds, planting pot, popsicle stick (I had to provide extra) and a disk of dirt (I had to cut the dirt in half, only two came in a box). I put them in clear blue bags with a white bow on it. I made copies of the planting directions and handed them out. The Plantarium's have created just the talk around innovation we were looking for. Everyone is very excited. As an incentive, we told the employees if they actually produce a vegetable there is a bonus in it for them.

Three Times a Charm

I've bought three of these: Two for my own children, they wanted to do the experiments a second time, and once for my nieces and nephew. Everyone loved them. We've not had great luck with the transplantation. Removing the jell to free the roots in anticipation of putting the plants in soil is, understandably, traumatic for them. But the best part of the process is watching the seeds put down roots and start to grow. I've never seen anything comparable in terms of letting children see life start. A great toy.

This is a neat product for a child who has an interest in gardening. Our complaint with the product is that the pots for transplanting are way too small to use. The circumferance is only about the size of a quarter - and that is at the widest point. Children need to be patient as it takes a while for the seeds to sprout. We bought this for our 4 year old daughter.
