The wireless Red Hot Laser Light Show projects huge patterns onto your walls or ceilings and responds to music. There is a built in hanger that swings out for easy ceiling mounting and a 3-way switch (off, auto mode, sound response mode). You can also just set it on a table and adjust the angles. Requires 4 AA batteries, not included.

It was slightly larger than I expected, a touch bigger than a softball. The item makes a quiet hum when in operation but not bothersome. It is battery powered out of the box (4 AA cells) and there is a jack for a 6V DC adapter (not included). The patterns are reminencent of a spirograph. I counted about 10 different patterns but keep in mind the patterns are constantly changing. Fun toy and very reasonable for the price; we are using it for a summer school program.
You can also put the item in a voice/sound activated mode.
