Hold these richly colored, classic sticks in your hand. Drop them on the floor. The game commences. Your object, pick up the sticks one at a time without disturbing others. If another stick moves, another player takes a turn. Successfully recover the colored sticks having the highest point value and the crown goes to you.

In brief: Pick Up Sticks are believed to have originated in ancient China in the form of finely carved ivory. Transferred to wood and carved bone. Discovered and used by British traders. Native Americans adapted the game to a version using painted reeds. Early North Americans used colored straw.

My grandson loves this toy and it keeps him occupied for a very long time. He develops dexterity and his concentration and focus is amazing for such a simple toy. He's a bit young for the toy (14 months) so I have to watch him very carefully to make sure he doesn't walk with a stick or play with them too close to his face.

This game requires steady hand and eye hand coordination. The game is never the same, each time is unique.

This is a great toy! The simplicity of the sticks and the game encouraged my kids to be creative when working out how to pick up more sticks.
