Compass Kidz is a world adventure in which kids collect treasured medallions and gain inside views and meaningful perspectives from kids of other countries and cultures from right at home.
Compass KidZ is a cultural and educational experience for kids, developed by teachers. It's a fully safe, online penpal club and much more! Inside every Compass KidZ set, kids find components for irresistible fun.
Within each Compass KidZ set is a golden medallion made from high-quality materials and brilliant Goldine finish. It weighs the same as a silver dollar, and truly feels like a treasure. Each medallion features a landmark or symbol from the country selected. Kids love these high quality medallions so much they aren’t able to take their hands off of them. And the great part – it’s learning reinforcement every time they pick them up!
Collecting the medallions is only part of the fun. Inside the medallion kit, kids also find a passport booklet, containing lots of information, so that they can “meet” a Compass KidZ Ambassador – an 11 year old child living in that country – who shares what it is like to live in their country today with stories and photos. The passport booklet also features color photographs of the region. A FactZ card with trivia is also included. Children can explore countries around the globe at the Compass KidZ website and even become a online friend to children from other countries! (No password or email address is needed to check out the Compass Kidz Website. I learned fascinating cultural information just in browsing.)
Compass Kidz was created by teachers, and is fully monitored for safety. To ensure a safe environment for all CKidZ PenPalz, submissions are reviewed and approved by Compass Kidz editors before posting. Compass KidZ began as a teaching resource to bring cultures to life through experiences of kids communicating with one another. Through sharing life experiences, kids cultivate appreciation for their similarities, develop respect for their differences and reflect on the “we’re all in this together” concept.
