This toy concertina is a real disappointment. I am a concertina player and thought my grandson would enjoy playing along with me. Most of this toy is well designed. It is built to last, but there are two serious flaws: 1. The bellows is too stiff. It is very difficult to flex, too difficult for a small child. 2. The "reed" they have used in the concertina to make a sound is incredibly bad. It squawks and grunts rather than making a musical sound. It would have been so simple to have it play a simple chord. I would never have bought this if I had seen it action. I strongly suggest you save your money and do not buy this toy. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: With play the Concertina loosens for easier flexing.)

Bright colors and beautiful craftsmanship. Makes a pleasant two-tone sound. It's a nice complement fir other musical instruments. Kids seem drawn to it because it looks so different than any other musical instrument they have. It is a curiosity around our house--everyone who sees it can't help but pick it up and play it!
