Our 22 month daughter didn't enjoy these. She just would unscrew the top and that's it, she had no interest in the other pieces . I think in another year she will enjoy these better. Great quality, will last a long time.

Sturdy built, long lasting wood, instills imagination
as they take apart and rebuild. Great for the hands-
on grandson of three years old.

I own and operate a family daycare. I purchased this item among others. I let the children discover these "nuts and bolts" on their own. I was facinated because they all called them "people". One 3 year old called them "papa and grandma". They love the way that they can screw and unscrew the different parts. I like them because they are a great tool for fine motor skill development and because they are made of wood.
Great in theory

Good quality and actually fun. My 7 yr old had more fun playing with it though than my 2 yr old. It is great in theory, as my son especially likes to take things apart and put them back together, but he gets frustrated because the pieces that are screwed all the way down to the bottom take a lot of twisting to get off and he feels like he isn't getting anywhere with it. He is good with just playing with one piece and taking it on and off, like putting a lid on a pop bottle. Eventually I think he will get it more, as he has only played with it for one day. But again a great way for them to exercise important skills, in theory, expeciallly if your child is really into using his fine moter skills and has good dexterity like my little one. We are not giving up on this one!!

My 18 month old son loves these! They are perfect to take to restaurants to keep him busy without having a zillion little pieces!
