While studying Industrial Design at Carnegie Mellon University, Patrick Calello was challenged with the task of developing new consumer product concepts for the do-it-yourself wooden hobby industry. Being a "car guy", Calello immediately developed a novel toy car concept that could be fashioned out of wood. It was the fall of 1992 when the original concept was born for what would become Automoblox. The idea was to inspire creativity in children by allowing them to visualize and assemble cars of their own design. Calello believed that the key to a clever and innovative toy car was to use modern styling crafted out of wood - a reinvention of the classic wooden car.
Changeable Wheels
Low profile rubber tires and stylish realistic wheels enhance customization. Optional wheels will set your child's imagination in motion.
Family of Passengers
Each Automoblox passenger was designed with a custom geometric base that corresponds with the passenger compartment's custom bucket seat.
Removable Connectors
These removable connectors allow vehicle body components to be exchanged and snapped together.
