There are so many different sounds in our experience... some threatening, some lovely, some so rarely heard they are utterly confusing. For an individual with Special Needs, being able to relate and respond to sound appropriately is key. Being aware of differences in sounds and refining the capacity of the mind to attend to sounds... these are important skills sets for special needs children and adults. These sensory toys were selected for their potential to help children and adults develop greater sound awareness and accurate auditory discrimination.
